Predictive Maintenance of Manned Spacecraft Through Remaining Useful Life Estimation Technique
CHEN Runfeng, YANG Hong
2018, 19(3):  3-10.  doi:10.3969/j.issn.1671-0940.2018.03.001

Manned spacecraft pose challenges in terms of extremely high safety and reliability, and with the growth of system complexity and longer on-orbit operation time, the traditional management mode, such as monitoring the threshold of parameter passively, is difficult to meet the required safety standards. Predictive maintenance, which analyzes the system heath trend and estimates remaining useful life (RUL) to establish maintenance strategies ahead of time before failure occurs, is a new mode to approach maintenance tasks. Here, a predictive maintenance strategy for complex manned spacecraft is proposed based on the remaining useful life estimation technique. Firstly, a health index is established based on an abundance of telemetry data, reflecting the system’s current health state. Secondly, we map the health index to the remaining useful life through system degradation modelling, taking into consideration both the
system’s stochastic deterioration and uncertainty. The maintenance and management strategies are then made based on the calculated distribution of RUL time. Finally, a case study on Chinese space station energy system predictive maintenance is presented.

Using satellite remote sensing to monitor oil spill on the sea is an advanced means of oil spill monitoring, and it has the characteristics of wide coverage, speediness and real time, synchronization, continuity, and low cost.
Hence, accelerating the research on this technology and establishing a satellite remote sensing monitoring mechanism suitable for oil spill emergency situations is of great significance to improve China’s oil spill monitoring capability and prevent or reduce the pollution damage caused by oil spill in the marine environment.
This paper analyzes and studies the current situation using satellite remote sensing to monitor oil spills at home and abroad. Based on the basic principle of satellite remote sensing, this paper systematically studies the satellite remote sensing monitoring oil spill principles, satellite data processing methods and oil spill information identification, and summarizes an oil spill identification system that can realize oil spill information reproduction. This system provides an important means of support for the handling of oil spill accidents.
A Comparison of GaN VS GaAs System Performance

Traditionally RF power amplifiers used Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) technology which has a well behaved and understood performance. Over the past few years Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology is replacing GaAs because GaN is
more efficient and has a higher power density resulting in higher power MMICs and FETs.
Subject to system link budgets, we usually want to run a given amplifier as close to saturation as possible to minimize CAPEX costs. Running an amplifier closer to saturation causes many non-linear effects that can cause link performance degradation and interfere with other users.
To better understand and quantify the differences between GaN and GaAs amplifiers and the impact of this on system performance, some amplifier and system measurements will be taken. The findings will be documented in a white paper.
